Level 3 Diploma in Business

          This course has been created for learners who wish to progress to a business or management degree, but may not have the ‘traditional’ entry requirements needed. Once the course is completed learners can progress to study an array of BA degrees at university or through other higher education institutions. This qualification encourages learners to better their understanding within the fields of academic study, research and communication in a business context, while enabling them to remain in employment. The course also allows those who wish to progress within their current employment to enhance their skill-set. The qualification comprises of 4 mandatory units equal to 60 credits, which is equivalent to an A-level.

Access to HE Diploma Nursing, Midwifery and Health Studies

This course consists of specialised modules in the Nursing, Midwifery and Health Studies. The Diploma gives you an insight into both physical and human science, along with foundations of both psychological and sociological practices.

Access to Nursing, Midwifery and Health Studies opens up an opportunity for people who want to progress into nursing, midwifery and social studies degree programmes. The primary aim of the Access to HE Diploma is to provide an appropriate preparation and recognised qualification to enable students to progress to Higher Education (HE). This course enables an individual to secure a qualification if they have left school with few, or any, of the usual qualifications for entry.

Access to HE Diploma Allied Health Professionals

This QAA recognised Access to HE course is designed for adults seeking entry to Allied Health related degrees including radiography, physiotherapy, dietetics and nutrition but who currently lack the qualifications or confidence required for direct entry. The focus is on developing academic skills through the exploration of three specialist subjects. The development and strengthening of English and maths skills underpins the programme. By providing a supportive and inclusive environment, the Access to HE programme also provides the opportunity for students to develop their confidence and realistically appraise their professional opportunities.

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be considering entering higher education. All prospective students will need to attend an information event followed by diagnostics and interview. Students given a conditional offer will need to supply a reference and complete a series of tasks before being invited to enrol on the programme.

Allied Health related programmes are extremely competitive. To ensure progression to university you should ensure that you meet the GCSE/Functional Skills and work experience requirements of different universities.

Assessment is continuous and includes essay and report writing and presentations. During April students also complete exams. The final assessment is a 3000 word research project.

Access to HE Diploma Business

This course will give you a thorough grounding in business policies, theories and practices.
You will also undertake a core study programme, which is designed to ensure you have fundamental skills in IT, numeracy and literacy for the purpose of gaining entry into higher education.

If you have an up to date level 2 course (obtained within the last three years) and evidence of level 2 literacy and numeracy then you will be able to take part on the course.

However, as most of our students have been out of education for the last few years, every student is given an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy which will act as evidence for entry. You will take these tests before you start the course and will need to achieve level 2 in both of them.

If you do not meet the criteria then the college has a range of alternative programmes open to you.

You’ll learn about how businesses develop their products, set their prices, market them and get the best use from of their financial and human resources.

 

Pearson BTEC Level 3 90 credit Diploma in Health and Social Care

Want to be a nurse, teacher, social worker, occupational therapist or study for a degree in psychology, social sciences, childhood studies or health studies then this is the course for you. Whether that’s to get into university, get an apprenticeship or land your dream job!

This Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma could either be for learners starting their final year of education, for example after taking a level 2 qualification post-16 and wishing to follow a coherent one-year course at level 3, or for learners who wish to complete their course after one year and move into an apprenticeship or training with an employer. The qualification supports progression to a wide range of roles within the sector, usually when accompanied by other qualifications achieved at level 2 or level 3, such as in first aid, food hygiene, GCSEs in English and maths.

The BTEC quali cations in this are designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifiations in a range of vocational sectors. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. These qualifcations accredit the achievement for courses and programmes of study for full-time or part-time learners in schools, colleges and other training provider organisations. The qualifications provide career development opportunities for those already in work, and progression opportunities to higher education, degree and professional development programmes within the same or related areas of study, within universities and other institutions.

 

The Qualifcation Number (QN) for the Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification is 600/6178/9

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of four mandatory units (providing 240 guided learning hours or 40 credits) plus optional units that provide for a further 300 guided learning hours (50 credits) to produce a combined total of 540 guided learning hours (GLH) or 90 credits for the completed qualifcation.

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements to enrol on this course, however you must have :

Some learners may wish to gain the qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a larger or different level 3 programme. Other learners may want to extend the specialism they studied on the BTEC Level 3 Certificate or the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma programme. Learners may also be able to use the BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma to gain partial achievement and have the requisite skills, knowledge and understanding needed in the sector.

When selecting units in the 90-credit Diploma, it is essential that consideration is given to the progression needs of the learner.

For example, if learners wish to eventually progress onto the Diploma (120 credits) or Extended Diploma (180 credits), they need to ensure that the optional units they select in the 90-credit Diploma also appear in the relevant pathway they wish to progress to.
