What is Business Analysis?

Business analysis is used in order to identify changes that need to be made, and then facilitate the successful implementation and management of these changes within an organisation.

It’s the set of tasks, knowledge, and techniques required to identify business needs and determine solutions to enterprise business problems. In IT industry, solutions often include a systems development component, but may also consist of process improvement or organizational change.

Business analysis may also be performed to understand the current state of an organization or to serve as a basis for the identification of business needs.

A business analyst is an individual who helps in identifying an organisation/business domain needs and documents its business, process, or systems, assessing the business model/integrating the same with technology.

Prerequisite for Foundation

There is no prerequisite for this certification.

The foundation certificate is for anyone who is interested in starting their career in Business Analysis area. It provides the basement to develop a broad understanding of the principles and approaches in business analysis Journey.

Prerequisite for Practitioner

Anyone who has passed the foundation level certification and would like to move on to demonstrate their practical skills they can write the practitioner test. The Practitioner certification module can be accumulated to gain a BCS international Diploma in Business Analysis too.

What is the difference between Business Analysis Foundation & Practitioner qualification?

The foundation modules are for anyone who wants to start their career in business analysis sector or for those who are involved in business side such business manager, analysts, change manager etc. to enhance their understanding on business Analysis. It gives an overall view about the skills, knowledge and techniques used to assess the current state (problem) to the future state (solution) for the business.
