Results Extenuating Circumstances Form

Confidential

Notes to students:

It is essential that you inform the Assessment Board of any extenuating circumstances before it meets to assess the student work relating to your circumstances. In practice this means submitting your Extenuating Circumstances Form as soon as is practical. Students cannot appeal against any decision of a Results Assessment Board after a board meeting if the student concerned could have reasonably been expected to inform the board of extenuating circumstances in advance of the meeting.

The Assessment Board will consider the affected work in the context of the student’s performance throughout a programme of study and will only take extenuating circumstances into account when it is apparent that a student’s grades have been adversely affected.

Students are strongly encouraged to submit any work impacted by an extenuating circumstances claim for grading, whether complete or incomplete, even after the submission deadline has passed.

Please complete this form if you wish to inform the Assessment Board of any extenuating circumstances which you believe may have adversely impacted on your performance in graded coursework or in examinations.
